Check my lyrical take on Algorithmic Parasite Economy:
You want to make it in music? Record some covers first!
You want to write your own thing? Write ’bout what others make!
You want to blow up online? Copy someone else’s hook!
You want it yours, with no lie? But that’s not rewarding. Just look…
It’s easier to comment, to twist, to describe what’s already there
It’s easier than making from scratch, and that’s when algorithms care
It’s easier to build a success by drinking the blood of the rest
But it’s the creator who should go first, not this vampire’s fest!
You want to make it in music? Record some covers first!
The modern world runs on a coward’s deal: don’t innovate, just rebrand. The online music world is completely run by an algorithmic parasite economy made to push safe, familiar stuff over real creativity. Recommendation engines are built to maximize views on endless variations of things people already know. Covers of famous songs, remixes of viral tracks, and musical AI slop easily get thousands of views, tons of followers, and big money. Meanwhile, artists who build everything from scratch – write their own music, build an original brand, and refuse to copy anyone – get algorithmically buried beneath the noise. The system doesn’t know what to do with something genuinely new, making cheap copies way more profitable. It turns the internet into digital clutter that pays human jukeboxes while starving anyone taking real artistic risks.
You want to write your own thing? Write ’bout what others make!
This problem isn’t just in music – it’s how the whole internet works today. Talking about what other people made now gets way more views, reach, and money than creating something original. A creator can spend months building an idea from scratch, only for a reaction channel or commentary streamer to steal that work for a ten-minute video. Commentary takes zero creative risk, zero vulnerability, and zero hard work. Yet, platforms always push content about things instead of actual things that are talked over. We built a broken system that rewards the audience over the builder, proving that talking about someone else’s bravery pays better than being brave yourself.
You want to blow up online? Copy someone else’s hook!
Here, a “hook” isn’t just a catchy three-second intro – it’s stealing entire original ideas and formats, which is “the most rewarding” in today’s Internet. The second someone invents a fresh idea or a new angle, copycats swarm in to steal the formula. Thousands of people copy the exact same format and flood everyone’s feed. Algorithms love this cheap repetition because predictable posts keep people scrolling without thinking. In this copy-paste loop, the original creator gets lost. Credit disappears in real-time, and the system gives views, clout, and money to whoever made the twentieth copy of a stolen idea.
You want it yours, with no lie? But that’s not rewarding. Just look…
Being 100% authentic – building “with no lie” – is almost impossible online today. If you refuse to trick the algorithm, refuse to play the SEO game, refuse to record endless fake 4K videos, the system buries you. Big Tech platforms don’t create any culture of their own, yet they force creators to ruin their vision just to fit into their feeds. It proves that pure creation is punished online, leaving real creators starving while fake, algorithm-friendly posts win.
LIVE EXAMPLE: Just look at this very article. Do you honestly think you would have ever found this page on Google if I hadn’t sent you here directly using workarounds? Absolutely not. My original layout doesn’t fit standard search engine rules. To make Google happy, I would have had to stuff every header with fake keywords instead of building the piece around my own poem. ✍️
It’s easier to comment, to twist, to describe what’s already there
Taking what already exists – to react to it, talk about it, or put a twist on it – is the easiest shortcut. From commentary channels and news sites to gossip pages and reaction videos, the trick is always the same: reacting to things takes zero creative risk and almost no work. You don’t have to sit down and build something brand new from scratch. You just sit back, summarize, or twist what someone else spent months making. Because the system loves quick reactions, people who just comment, spin, or describe existing work get way more views than the real creators who did all the hard work in the first place.
It’s easier than making from scratch, and that’s when algorithms care
Social platforms are built for fast, mindless scrolling. Algorithms don’t care about the hard work, sweat, or money it takes to build something from zero; they only care about quick numb-.-ers. Copied formats, cheap commentary, and trend-jacking give easy clicks, so algorithms push them out to millions. The worst part of this algorithmic parasite economy? While copycats get free viral reach, original creators are forced to pay THEM to reach their audience.
It’s easier to build a success by drinking the blood of the rest
The internet has created a whole class of online parasites whose entire business is stealing value from real creators. Whether through AI, reaction channels, repost pages, or stealing concepts without giving credit, their entire audience is built by leeching off real makers. The real creator takes 100% of the risk, money cost, and creative burnout – doing all the exhausting work of making something new. Meanwhile, the parasite steps in only when something is already working, taking the followers, clout, and money for significantly lower effort. It’s an algorithmic parasite economy where people who risk nothing get rewarded & paid first, while real creators are left aside.
Necessary disclaimer: Symbiosis vs. Parasitism
A Polish stand-up comedian (Ewa Stasiewicz, pozdrawiam!) once made a joke that turned out to be a terrifying prediction: she said that soon, “our children will be watching someone watching someone else play”. But that’s not a joke anymore – it’s literally where we are. We built an Internet with so many layers of secondary takes that the actual creators got erased at the bottom. 👀
To be clear: I’m not saying that all commentary, journalism, reviews, remixes, or critique are bad. The world needs good reviewers, journalists, and tastemakers who help people find good ideas, tools, initiatives, or art. The problem isn’t that they exist – it’s that instead of taking a risk to find hidden artists, support fresh ideas, and back creative people, commentators are pushed to leech off what’s already viral or take money to promote fake hype.
In a fair system – the kind I’m designing – it should be a win-win. One of the main mechanisms I want to implement in The Sanctuary is a way for a journalist or commentator who actually discovers an unknown creator/tool/idea/initiative to share in the reward.
But it’s the creator who should go first, not this vampire’s fest
At the heart of my Church of Freedom design is a total shift: moving from an attention & money economy to a value economy. The system I’m designing will be built on an uncompromising blueprint.
What WON’T be there:
- No parasites and copycats: There will be no possibility of jumping in out of nowhere, making a reaction or cover of an already-famous artist/tool, or copying a viral format, and instantly harvesting free reach.
- No Real-Time Marketing (RTM): No chasing daily news cycles or hijacking trends. We won’t manipulate people’s worldviews or force millions of users to care about the exact same thing at the exact same time.
- No bots & AI slop: There will be zero room for fake accounts, bots, and low-effort, automated clutter taking up creative space.
- No buying reach: You will not be able to pay money to buy algorithmic boosts, jump the queue, or force your way into people’s feeds.
- No public numb-.-ers & vanity metrics: There will be zero visible view counts, follower numbers, or public likes. We know exactly how the human brain gets trapped by social proof bias, judging art by artificial popularity instead of raw, authentic resonance.
What WILL be there:
- Complete protection for creators: Protecting creator Time (no algorithmic decay or artificial urgency), Finance (direct value flow), Energy (no burnout from feed-chasing), and Authorship (no AI scraping under the ToS & Chain of Origin 👇), ensuring that those who make things from scratch will never be pushed to the back of the line again.
- A hardcoded Chain of Origin: Provenance locked into the tech – primary builders will be permanently anchored at the very root of the value chain, holding full credit, ownership, and financial priority.
- Shared success for real tastemakers: If you take a genuine risk on an undiscovered creator, tool, or idea and help break them to the world, you will earn a real share in the value unlocked by that discovery.
- A Value Economy: Reach and revenue will be driven by authentic merit and real contribution, not clickbait tactics or algorithmic games.
