The 21st-century world is so heavily digitalized that even someone who doesn’t use the internet on a daily basis is forced to be plugged into the network – if only for civic, banking, and tax systems. The majority of companies store their sensitive data (client lists, reports, strategies) online, most musicians, journalists, speakers, and writers release their craft on social media and streaming platforms, and regular people hold their private lives in smartphones and various apps. The point is, all this data isn’t safe. Humanity desperately needs a place where it can embrace real digital sovereignty. Why? Let’s break this down.

* Yes I rhymed this headline on purpose… 馃檭

Infrastructure Monopolies: The Feudal Cloud

Reports from IDC confirm the madness: over 80% of global data is stored in centralized silos, where users only hold temporary, revocable access.

“Access” is the critical word here – under the Terms of Service (ToS) of major platforms, users do not own their profiles, content feeds, or audience connections; they merely hold a temporary license to use the platform’s interface.

What makes it worse is that migrating away feels nearly impossible due to the vendor lock-in trap and exorbitant data transfer fees (egress fees). According to Gartner, 80% of businesses and independent creators cite this exact barrier as the reason they cannot leave centralized platforms.

And who actually owns the vault? According to Synergy Research Group, three US giants – Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud – control roughly two-thirds of the global cloud infrastructure market.

The great scraping farm NO ONE has a protection from

Every scrap of work you add to the cloud isn’t just hosted – it is actively harvested. According to an investigation by the Washington Post and the Allen Institute for AI, massive AI training datasets (like Google’s C4 and Common Crawl) have scraped content from over 15 million websites – with 85% to 90% of it taken without explicit opt-in consent.

Sure, major corporations, high-profile figures, and mega-labels can afford bespoke legal shields, licensing deals, and teams of high-powered lawyers to fire off immediate cease-and-desist letters. But that kind of security is a luxury item with a massive price tag. For independent creators, small business owners, journalists, and everyday people, this protection is a total fantasy.

And even for high-profile figures, it is a complete fiction – data is scraped under “fair use”, in fragmented pieces, and through other “sophisticated” backdoors. Moreover, legal protection is purely temporary. Legal retainers only last as long as you keep paying them, and the moment a person passes away, their work, digital presence, and personal legacy become fair game for corporate algorithms to monetize forever. Real protection doesn’t exist in a system where security is just a paid subscription.

Honestly, if they were just stealing, we could almost laugh it off. But no – the system rewards the theft. It algorithmically boosts AI-generated copies while burying the real human creators who made the source material. I’m trying to open people’s minds on my YouTube channel I invite you to subscribe, but before my videos even go live, their content is carefully analyzed. And because it isn’t mindless sh-.-t and exposes the platform’s pathology, its reach is dead on arrival.

The ultimate irony: you pay them to exploit you

Creators, artists, and businesses aren’t just having their work harvested – they are actively paying for the “privilege“. Companies and independent workers shell out massive monthly fees for cloud storage, software subscriptions, hosting servers, verification badges and “premiums”, effectively financing the very infrastructure that locks them in and scrapes their hard work. They are literally paying rent to the landlord who is stealing from their back garden.

And if you think that lack of digital sovereignty is this is just a problem for creators or corporations, think again. Everyday users are caught in the exact same trap. Every single day, people pay monthly subscriptions for cloud storage, mobile plans, and daily apps – only to have their private lives packaged, analyzed, and monetized behind their backs.

Their location data, habits, browsing history, and personal interests are constantly harvested to feed data brokers and advertising algorithms. The result? Endless targeted ads cluttering their feeds and telemarketers blowing up their phones with “special offers” they never asked for.

It is the ultimate corporate absurdity: we are all paying hard-earned money for services that turn our work and personal privacy into raw fuel. We are actively funding the system that exploits us. 馃

My rebellion

After 12 years in digital marketing, I know exactly what I could do to blow up my channel, game the social media algorithms, and monetize my content. I know the shi44y playbook inside out. I know how to hit aggressive financial goals, build conversion funnels, and optimize my numb-.-ers. But… I refuse to do it.

I refuse to owe a single crumb of my work to the Digital Cobra – a system that has done nothing but try to suppress, choke out, and discourage genuine human effort. I am not adapting to digital marketing “trends”,

I am not gutting my craft into 7-second dopamine snippets, and I actively and openly oppose AI exploitation. I have zero intention of feeding my native language, my voice, or my core craft into their training machines.

This isn’t a lack of knowledge or skill. It is a conscious boycott.

We need Digital Sovereignty NOW

Digital Sovereignty shouldn’t be just another buzzword people churn out content about to look smart (because that’s what usually happens when AI and “hard” tech topics trend… 馃槤). It is not a theoretical debate for panel discussions or corporate keynotes. It is a survival tactic.

It means refusing to be a digital squatter on platforms that hate you. It means building an independent ecosystem where you own the ground you stand on, the data you create, and the connections you build.

And because I am more of a doer than a talker, I am designing that exact kind of Space – and looking for people who think at least 50% like me. I want to build a Sanctuary for uncorrupted work, and a Synod for the people who see through the illusion and are ready to build this with me.

Call for the real Digital Sovereignty for those who value themselves

Sorry, but at this point, I’m doing this my way. I’ll just rhyme my call – and if you’re a total tech nerd who doesn’t understand a single metaphor, go find a humanist to translate for you. 馃槤

Their Cobra steals every single draft of your work
Before you even set its upload time on the clock
Makes you lose
energy for the crumbs it “can pay”
And forces you to play by its rules to obey
These spaces don’t care about you or your craft
They operate solely on their pyramids’ math
As Michael Jackson sang in the song you should know:
You’re just used, lied to, and constantly owned

And God’s word – you don’t have to believe –
Stated not to fear all of these thieves
I do not. So I’ll open my safe space in Church,
You can join me to claim back your Soul and your worth

Check out what I’m designing and join the Synod of the Magicians – we’re fighting for the real digital sovereignty on planet Earth.
